Testing and Spread of Coronavirus in the U.S.A.
At first, it seems that the coronavirus is becoming a more virulent spread in America, than in other parts of the world. Naturally enough, critics and political enemies of President Trump, are taking advantage of the abysmal difference on the coronavirus numbers in America vs. other countries, for things like the number of deaths attributed to the virus, the number of people infected by the coronavirus, the number of people hospitalized, etc., all statistics for which America shows a considerable lead over the rest of the world.
But, what I have not seen published anywhere is information which quantifies the availability of test in the U.S., in comparison with other countries.
Worrisome as they are, some of the statistics of the coronavirus for the U.S. means nothing if we do not show the source of those numbers.
President Trump was right when he indicated that the increase in the number of infected people in the U.S. was largely due to the relative ease of accessing testing in America vs. what happens in other countries.
What was totally wrong, in my opinion, was his response to those statistics. Tests do not kill people, nor increase contagion among the population.
Instead of acting like a mature, responsible leader, announcing to the population the magnitude of the problem — largely uncovered by tests — , and enforcing preventive measures against the virus transmission, like the compulsory use of masks in public appearances, social distancing, etc., his infantile mind, just blamed the tests for the spread of the virus in the U.S., threatening to limit the future availability of testing as a remedy to contain the advance of the coronavirus in the country.
At the same time, pro-Trump Governors dictated in their states an accelerated reopening of business, and irresponsible disregard for elemental protection measures, like the use of maks while in public places, despite the evidence of the still massive presence of the coronavirus on American soil, as a prolonged closing and preventive measures, are bad for electoral purposes (or so they think).
As a matter of fact, President Trump’s dismal performance on this health-crisis in America gets worse and worse, as the election day gets closer and closer, and desperation creeps over his camp for the evident surge of his rival Biden in the electoral polls.
Fortunately, the more he speaks, the better it is. The country surely will soon get rid of that dangerous, spoiled brat.
Definitely, he is his own enemy.
