Biden may still win the election...
What a Disappointment!
... but, whatever the result is, it makes me sad anyway...
Well, it is over at last!
Yesterday, November 3 2020, the much anticipated Presidential election in the U.S. took place.
And it looks like the Democrats’ candidate Biden, is going to win, although his eventual victory (I say eventual because there are still millions of votes, in key states of unaccounted absentee, and mailed in votes).
It also looks like the much anticipated Trump’s announcement, that he would go to Court to challenge the results of the election, if they were unfavorable to him, will materialize.
But, contrary to what I believed, it was a heavily contested election, not a landslide victory for Biden, as I expected, an election with tight results, as milions of Americans(some 70 million of them!) — to my astonishment — favored Trump with their votes!
Aristotle, the great phylosopher of the Ancient Greece was probably right when he affirmed, (sorry, I can’t remember where I read it):
“Republics degenerate into democracies, democracies degenerate into authoritarisms”
As Jessica Widfire, in her excellent article published in medium.com, put it:
