What’s happening in the U.S.?

It’s about 7 months since the last article was writtten by me at Medium. Yes, and at the time, I promised to myself that I would not write again in Medium about U.S. affairs because, after all, I am not an American, nor a resident of the U.S., although I was a resident a few years back.

However, I’ve decided to break my promise as I can’t stay put doing nothing, just staying as a silent witness while dark forces stand out and seem to be taking over the U.S..

I still don’t understand how a despicable individual like Donald Trump was able to obtain millions of votes in the last Presidential election. Yes, he lost to Biden, but still …

Amazingly enough, the hideous guy who clearly directed his followers to attack the Capitol in 2020, making no secret of his intentions to overthrow democracy in America, installing himself as a Dictator for life, is now permitted to be active as a precandidate to the next Presidential election !! Only in America !

But now, it is not only that he seems to be allowed, at least to be a pre-candidate for the next Presidential election, which in itself it’s difficult to grasp, but astonishingly the guy seems to enjoy the support of part of the members of the American society (fortunately, a noisy minority), mainly simpatizers and members of the Republican party.

How is that possible? FGS !!!

How is it possible that the insane Margory Taylor Green, a MAGA supporter, the one who warned us about the jew´s laser rays out of space (!!), the one who on T.V. threated to behead another member of Congress, was elected as a Representative to the House? Nothing else than for Georgia!! (?)

Something is VERY wrong in the U.S. today.

And how is it possible that Kevin MacCarthy, new Speaker of the House, but another MAGA member, appointed her — who would easily qualify as a domestic terrorist — as a member (unbelievable) of the House’s committee of Home Inland Security !!

Things like those, among many others, make people like me think that many minds in the U.S.A. — specially what seems to be still a raucus minority at the Republican party — have been contaminated by Trump and his continuous lies.

Certainly, all these craziness started with Trump, didn’t it ?

However, the rest of the GOP, with some honorable and brave exceptions, the majority of those women and men just and figthing continuously for the well-being of all Americans, remain disconcertingly silent. Why it is that?. Are they afraid of MAGA members?

Is it their way of defending/preserving their political future?

Wathever the reason for their silence is, please remind that what seems electorally convenient today, may turn into perceived cowardice tomorrow.

Please, terminate that comedy right now.
